Why did you choose to train with The BD School?

I was transitioning from being a counselor to a business development role. While counseling has some similarities to sales, it isn't the same as business development. I had developed many transferable skills over the years, such as project management and leadership from my time in the military, but I needed something to bring it all together and provide a system and direction.

I searched for business development education online and found The BD School. After watching some free content, webinars, and reading the website, I believed it was a legitimate organization providing valuable information and skills for business development professionals.

What did you like the most about the training?

One of the things that drew me to The BD School was the individualized one-on-one coaching. Other courses I found online lacked substance and depth. The BD School offered a systems approach, which was exactly what I needed. The education was great, but the real value came from the systems, tools, and processes that provided coherence and direction for applying my skills on a day-to-day basis.

How is the course helping you in your current job?

The course has set me up for long-term success. I've done my market research, competitive analysis, and business analysis, and I have dashboards and experiments running. I’m organized and know what to do daily, which prevents me from spinning my wheels.

I also continuously use the educational resources and webinars available on The BD School’s website to address any problems I encounter. This has enabled me to go into meetings with clear direction and objectives, saving me time and helping me avoid floundering during the initial stages of my new job.

What would you suggest to someone who's doubting if they want to join The BD School?

For those new to business development or who have hit a wall, I’d say that without this course, I would have spent the first few months figuring things out on my own. The BD School offers a valuable system, educational content, and responsive support. If you have the time, money, and energy, just do it. You only regret the things you don't do, and starting a new position with this kind of support gives you a head start.
